What makes you most excited about being a RYDE instructor?

When I moved from Saskatoon from Calgary in the fall to continue my studies at the UofS, there was only one thing missing for me, a spin studio to call home! Having been an avid spin junkie out West, I was ecstatic when I learned RYDE YXE was in the making! I knew I needed to be part of the Ryde family and there was no better way to begin my YXE adventures! Now Ryde YXE has become my biggest supporter and my absolute most favorite place to be in the city. Coaching at RYDE gives me the opportunity to connect with incredible and inspiring individuals in the community where together we encourage and inspire each other to reach our fullest potential, on and off the bike. Together with my love for music, sweaty workouts, and dance parties, teaching at RYDE encompasses my many passions! Inside the studio walls, is a space for pushing boundaries, crushing goals and pumping ourselves full of energy and positivity! I could go on forever, but instead join me on the bike and come discover it for yourself; it’s a decision you won’t regret! After one class with me, you’ll know why I love teaching at Ryde!

What is your favourite thing to do in YXE?

Nothing beats the energy and excitement of a sold out house at Griffiths Stadium to cheer on the Huskies! Supporting Huskie athletics is one of my favorite ways to spend my time in Saskatoon. Watching and cheering on the hard work, dedication and commitment of our very own CIS athletes is always inspiring and exciting! It is important not to forget to mention that every event comes with a quick service beer tent and is accompanied by great friends and family! Also, who doesn’t love winning?

What would be impossible for you to give up?

Clean socks – You’ll find 3 extra pairs in my gym bag. No feeling beats slipping on a fresh pair of socks. The generously passed on genetics of sweaty, clammy feet (at least that’s what I tell myself) has encouraged this obsession for clean, dry socks, even if it means changing them multiple times a day. Good thing for you, if you ever forget your socks, you know who to ask!

  • We may not be able to give high fives but we can still give blood. Throughout COVID-19 the need for blood remains.
At @rydeyxecyclestudio we have always been trained to do one thing—adjust to discomfort and overcome adversity.

Book in @canadaslifeline throughout the month of April using our PFL code RYDE288477 (No spaces, just as it is there, and click yes to employee since you are part of our team!) Post a photo of you donating and tag @rydegivesback + @rydeyxecyclestudio + @canadaslifeline and we will give you a FREE Ryde!
For more information on donating and for those already scheduled for our Blood Drive see below;

Due to COVID-19, our third Ryde Drive to Save Lives on April 18th will look a little different including: the absence of ryde instructors, cupcakes, and prizes. However, you WILL still receive one complimentary ryde and your presence at this event is greatly appreciated during this time of uncertainty.
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) will be contacting you directly to potentially reschedule your appointment, if you are flexible, to an alternate date. CBS is committed to the social distancing guidelines and want to ensure a safe environment for all donors. Essentially, 30-40 donors scheduled on April 18th will need to be rescheduled to an alternative date—but hang tight, team, CBS will be in contact with you and your blood is still needed and appreciated!
Some important notes from CBS include:
- Current evidence indicates COVID-19 is not transmitted by blood or blood products.
- It is safe to donate. Your donation can help save a life.
- To ensure CBS can continue to meet the needs of Canadian patients, CBS needs everyone who is eligible and healthy to continue to book and honor their appointments to donate blood.
- CBS donation sites are places of wellness. Only healthy people are eligible to donate blood.
Your willingness and resilience to give back to your community is inspiring, especially in times like these. We can’t wait to see you all in the future and thank you personally for your commitment to this project and our community.
Sending love,
The Ryde Team
